Neutral small-square tub surround
A compact tub-and-shower surround in small square tile in cream, beige and light gray. The tile runs around a wide window and across the shower end wall.
Small squares in mixed neutral tones suit a small bathroom. They add texture without a bold color, and the white tub and fixtures keep the room light.
The window over the tub was the main challenge. The grid has to turn into the window returns and come back out without the joints drifting, so we set the lines from the window opening first and worked out to the corners.
The joints run straight across the back wall and both returns, which keeps the whole surround looking like one piece. Above the tile line the walls are painted a warm, soft color, so the tile stays the main feature.
