When one floor covers the kitchen, dining and living areas, it needs to run the same way the whole length. We laid the planks parallel to the long side of the space, so the rooms read as one.
The warm brown tone balances the white cabinets and black backsplash, stools and pendant lights. It also hides everyday dirt better than a very light floor.
There are a floor register, a peninsula and the slatted opening to work around. Those cuts were planned along with the transitions to the entry so the floor finishes evenly everywhere.
