Charcoal gray shower tile and niche
A walk-in shower in charcoal gray rectangular tile, laid horizontally in a running bond. The long niche is trimmed in warm metal, and the same tile lines its inside.

The goal was a dark shower that still felt warm. Charcoal tile with a little variation in tone did most of that work, and brass-toned trim around the niche and fixtures finished it off.
A long, low niche looks simple, but it only works if its top and bottom land on full tile courses. We fixed the niche height against the tile layout before tiling started, so the running bond carries straight past it without thin slivers above or below.
Grout was matched close to the tile color. The joint pattern still shows, but it stays quiet, and the courses wrap around the corner to the fixture wall without a break.
