Veined floor tile across room and hall
Large white square tile with soft gray veining, laid in a straight grid from a main room through the doorway and down the hall.

When one floor runs through several spaces, the layout has to be decided for all of them at once. We set one reference line for the room and the hall, so the grid carries through the doorway without shifting.
Before any cuts, we checked where full and cut tiles would land against the walls and at the door jambs. That kept the hall from ending up with a thin row along one side.
Narrow joints and a dark base trim around the room finish it cleanly. We tiled this floor while other trades were still working in the room.
