Veined tile bath deck and shower
A bathroom with a tiled tub deck under shuttered windows and a shower next to it. Gray-veined tile covers the deck, the wainscot and the shower walls, with a round mosaic on the shower floor.
The tub sits in a deep deck with an angled corner, tiled on the front, the top and the window ledge. That many edges and returns on one piece takes careful cutting so the veining and joints line up at each turn.
In the shower, the square niche is centered on the main wall and set to fall on the tile joints. The floor switches to a small round mosaic, which follows the slope to the drain more easily than large tile.
Outside the wet area, a dark plank floor sets off the light tile, and the blue-gray walls keep the room calm.
